2018 Texas Thaw Coverage

I've been heading south of the Red River to Denton, TX and the North Star Dragway to attend the Texas Thaw for a few years now. As an event, it's a fun one, car show, drag racing, it's a great way to spend a Saturday. That's only a small part of the reason that I attend whenever I can. Most years the event is overrun with car buddies from all over the region as well.

This year there were a few less car show entries and the trickled in slowly but filled the car show assigned part of the pits, and there were some friends of mine that were noticeably absent. It was still a great time though! 

After a long day including driving about 6 hours for my day job on Friday I met up with my buddy Dalton at my house and we took off heading for Oklahoma. 5 hours later we get to our stopping point for the night. That's a lot of driving time in a day, even for me.

Saturday morning we got up early and crossed the Red River into North Texas headed for the Northstar Dragway and the Texas Thaw. When we arrived it was a bit later than I usually do, so there was almost no line to get in. Parked the daily driver and grabbed the camera, it was time to check out some cool rides and hang out with some great folks.
